The new interim chapel is now open at Guildford Crematorium while work takes place to build the new chapel and other facilities. Offering a peaceful place for commemoration and reflection, the interim chapel has the same facilities as the existing main chapel, including the Wesley music system and an organ. Fully air-conditioned, carpeted and heated, the interim chapel can accommodate over 100 people and has full wheelchair access.

Cllr Matt Furniss, Deputy Leader of the Council and Lead Cllr for Infrastructure and Governance says: “As we continue with the Guildford Crematorium rebuild project, our facilities will now move into the interim chapel. Rest assured our new chapel meets the same high standards as our existing chapel, with peaceful, dignified and comfortable surroundings for memorial services.”

Adds Cllr Furniss: “We are pleased that the project is progressing well with the new access road and new and improved car park, with more spaces, now open. Please see our website for updates as the rebuilding work continues.”
Access to all other parts of the Crematorium site remains open, including the memorial garden, book of remembrance and flower room. The new remembrance room, flower room, reflective pool and floral tribute room will be completed by late January.
